@rogueiron18 - Saw your ask on the creature blog. I have an ask blog for my CodeMasters too, so I'm answering the question here.
Crellan: Contrary to popular belief, no, we don't make the player a CodeMaster. Being that good at the game is only one of our considerations for recruitment, and it's not a big one. There are other factors. Like, knowing how to handle problematic players who damage locations, and how to talk to creatures about sensitive topics. We're more than drome bosses and our uniforms aren't just for show.

Headcanon: Crellan has encountered that wolfman who attacked Smildon in season two before. He doesn't seem to have a name, so Crellan and Amzen decided to make him one. They landed on Amarok.

Chaotic concept: The master tower
Having an arcade just for players who just want to have fun, but I think there should be a section for competitive players.
When a player defeats a codemaster, they don’t just received a scan, but gain access to a section in Chaotic: The master tower.
Each floor of the tower is dedicated to a codemaster and their battle strategy specialty:
Crellan:
Crellan‘s floor is dedicated to Perim’s history. The floor is divided into sections for each of the tribe’s history. Players can read translated textbooks from Perim to learn about their favorite tribe history or culture.
Hotekk:
Hotekk’s floor covers creature’s abilities and biology. The floor is similar to Crellan’s, with sections for each of the tribes. Players can discover creatures unique abilities, like Mipedian’s invisibility to create strategies for chaotic matches.
Amzen
Amzen’s floor collects info on battlegear. The floor is decorated with replicas of battlegear and battlegear blueprints. Players can learn the history of their creation, their Inventor and functions of battlegear.
Oron
Oron’s floor documents mugic and their creation. The floor can allow players to interact with instruments that aid muges to hid a tune for a mugic.
Tirasis
Tirasis’s floor covers on locations’s geography, ecology and zoology. Maps of locations are displayed in detail on tables or on walls on the floor. Players can learn about the effects of locations and the wildlife that inhabits the locations.
Imthor
Imthor’s floor archives mythology, legends and folklore of Perim. Players can read about many versions of myths of the Cothica to a ghost haunting Maxxor’s castle.
Chirrul
Chirrul’s floor gathers info on attacks and their history. Players can learn how attacks were created and how they can use them in matches.
Rumor has it, if a player defeated all the Codemasters, they access to an eight floor in the tower.

In the Chaotic X Transformers Prime, RID2015 Edition, given that Fixit bug isn't as well crafted as Ratchets and he isn't an official player do one of the Codemasters arrive to investigate? How does the group feel when there's a threat to Denny being banned from the game permanently because of what Fixit did?
Crellan has appeared once more! He and Ratchet still play Chaotic together from time to time. You can say Ratty took Optimus' death hard so the two been helping each other out. The Codemaster noticed the strange code so he sent it to the medic recognizing it to be Cybertronian in origin.
Crellan immediately shows up on the control console spooking the crap out of everyone before asking for Fixit to remove the bug. They're lucky that he handles the hackers as the other Codemasters would just banish Denny until the problem on his Scanner is fully handled. If the bots are still curious about Chaotic, then Crellan has a project in the works.
He leaves them with a warning on not to do it again as the Codemaster will shut down the next bugged Scanner. Fixit apologizes to Denny for his stunt although it'll take awhile for the man to forgive him. Everyone does wonder what Codemaster Crellan meant about a project they'll be interested in.

How does one become a code master?
"I shouldn't have to spell out that's a secret."
"Perhaps, but that is the point of the blog, Hotekk."
"Hmph, fine.
Even the players who have undefeated records? That's still not enough to make you a CodeMaster. To be one, you have to be someone truly special. Just because you're a great player in the Dromes or of the cards doesn't make you a great CodeMaster."

Was thinking over Rose's design for the Outworlder AU, and came up with this WIP. The descriptions of the Outworlder Codemasters certainly gave this sharp, vibrant fae vibe, so I wanted to kind of make Rose's mature design (5-6 years after first growing her wings) reflect that more. She starts out a cute little fairy girl and becomes something of a winged lionfish by the end. I'll add more details when I finish this.
I absolutely adore this! OutWorlders are very much Fey-like, and with the amount of aquatic influence, your OC might have grown up in Crellan’s Crown where they have the most direct access to the ocean.
Damn I gotta draw my own OCs now

Chaotic Reboots and Fixes Extensions: Battle-Kiosks & Admins.
Continuing on my Chaotic Reboots and Fixes post. I'll be explaining more on two of the Reboots and Fixes ideas I talked about in that. Onto the AIs! ~}i{~
Starting off, there are 8 Battle-Kiosks with each one corresponding to a specific BattleDrome. These Battle-Kiosks are AIs programmed into their respective BattleDrome (not completely replacing the DromeMasters, but they just add more to what they do). They keep the matches in order so there are no overlapping matches, reminding Players about their scheduled matches for their respective Battledome, keeps track of Players' streaks for a match against their respective BattleDrome Codemaster, keeps an active eye on the Matches for any hints of cheating, keeps track of which Players are currently banned from using their respective Battledome and for how long, and keeps any and all official bets/wagers made on Matches in fair reason as well as makes sure that the losing party(s) pays their wager. While they don't have a solid body, they use a hologram form with generic cybernetic features but each hologram "wears" the same coloured robes as their respective Code Master.
For the Battle-Kiosk for the Crellan Drome, the hologram wears blue robes. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Hotekk Drome, the hologram wears white. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Amzen Drome, the hologram wears yellow. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Oron Drome, the hologram wears green. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Tirasis Drome, the hologram wears orange. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Imthor Drome, the hologram wears gold and white. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Chirrul Drome, the hologram wears purple. For the Battle-Kiosk for the Beta Drome, the hologram wears red, green, and blue.
While the Battle-Kiosks don't have given names; Tom, Kaz, Sarah, and Peyton don't like calling them Battle-Kiosks. So they've been calling them Ceil, Tekken, Zenny, Clover, Tira, Imo, Chir, and Beta (they're listed in the same order as the Battledromes listed above). The Battle-Kiosks don't mind the Main 4 giving them names and calling them by those name, but they will verbally reprimand anyone inside their respective BattleDrom if they hear them making fun of or harassing the Main 4's little quirk.
The 8 Battle-Kiosks do have little quirks that show when interacting with the Players. Ceil can be a little snippy when the players taunt or tease their opponents. Tekken prefers that the Players arrive at their matches a little earlier than scheduled. Zenny likes to try to crack a joke after a battle match (Payton likes that about Zenny). Clover had overridden the code bits to green rather than blue-&-white in the Oron Drome. Tira always tries to motivate the loser of the Match to do better in the next match. Imo has a tendency to play soft music during the matches. Chir has a low tolerance for Tribe-bias in the Chirrul Drome and will reprimand players that belittle players that prefer a particular Tribe, sometimes to the point of disqualifying both players from the match if they continue that behaviour (Strangely, a lot of players seem to forget this and tend to do the Tribe-bias matches in the Chirrul Drome). Beta enjoys helping new players and some of the Challange Matches that players like doing (Beta keeps a record of all the Challenges to keep in case another player wishes to use the challenge [ie, like the Mega Matches}).
Now for the Admins...
Admins are pretty much AIs in cybernetic bodies that wander around Chaotic keeping their eyes and ears open for any players not adhering to the Rules of Chaotic. This is their main priority and will default to doing this when not asked to oversee matches. There are easily close to 500 different Admins functioning at once in Chaotic.
The Admins are also programmed to answer any questions that the players have in regards to Chaotic. While they can't/not allowed to formulate any battle plans for the players, they can recommend certain Mugic, Battlegear, and Locations that can work with certain creatures. The Admins are programmed to be unbiased in regards to the Tribes of Perim, so they can answer any questions regarding the facts of each of the Tribes.
While the Admins are normally found in Chaotic, they can travel to Perim if necessary. They more port-in at populated areas, such as cities or popular landmarks, than more remote locations because they do check-ins with Battlegear Makers. This is more to ensure the safety of the players and the creatures who use the Battlegears. They also assist in enforcing the security for storing Battlegear for each of the Tribes (The Tribes don't mind the Admins that much because they are programmed to not care about the wars and they're surprisingly good at analyzing the security system to improve them). The Admins do encrypt these security details with different coding so the other Tribes don't try to use the Admins to bypass the security for the other Tribes. The Danians do have some respect for the Admins because they somewhat operate like a hive too.
Like the Battle-Kiosks, the Admins have their own little quirks and don't have given names. However, they do have identifying glyphs on the location of their upper left chest in order to tell the Admins apart. Tom, Kaz, Payton, and Sarah have taken to giving the Admins names based on the identifying glyphs on their chests. (I'm just going to list the five that the main Cast interacts with the most)
Admin AVRI: The Main 4 like to call this one Avery. This Admin always seems to run into the four no matter where they are. This Admin is the one that they interact with the most and they consider Avery their friend.
Admin EDWRD: The Main 4 like to call this one Edward or Eddy. This Admin is usually found patroling around the BetaDrome. This one has a tendency to listen to music during their off-time.
Admin C1RT1C: The Main 4 like to call this one Critic. This one seems to enjoy watching movies during their off-time, so the name given to this one is on point.
Admin 1V: The Main 4 like to call this one Ivy. This Admin has a data bank of all plant life in Perim and knows where to find what species of plants.
Admin BL8K: The Main 4 like to call this one Blake. This Admin is always seen with a book in hand and has modified their cybernetic body to have extra eyes so they can read and patrol at the same time.
The Admins collectively keep an extra eye on the more "Troublesome Players" (Take two guesses on who those are) or Players who have accumulated a lot of negative rep or suspicious behaviour.

Until more Ideas develope~.

We all face challenges we're not prepared for, but the challenges themselves are not important. What matters is how we face them.

The Following is a collection of Chaotic Cards that Never Saw the Light of Day - some have card art, others were mere characters shown in the Chaotic TV series.
Overworlders:

Ørth - Overworld Elementalist (Original Art) - I always felt kind of cheated when a card would come out and it would not use the artwork that we’d already seen on the show. Personally, I prefer the original with Ørth and would’ve rather had this version released.

Deenha - Overworld Muge - Deenha has been seen in several episodes of the TV Series, mostly as a filler in times when another card was needed for someone’s Army - though we did see MajorTom use her against Codemaster Crellan. It’s sad that she never got the proper treatment, especially since she’s been around since the beginning.

Katarin - Overworld Elementalist - Again, rather unloved, Katarin appeared within the Army of ChaotiKingRJ when he and KidChaor battled - though she was not shown in use. Katarin was shown to be helping Najarin in Eye of the Maelstrom (E1.39) and was part of the Overworld blockade at Broken Edge, falling victim to Huge Marquard’s ignorance (E2.16)

Thonder - Overworld Guardian - Thonder was a Creature who, much like Deenha and Katarin - often times just filled up a person’s Army on the Chaotic TV series - though we’d occasionally get to see him in action - such as in Mega Match - where MajorTom used Thonder in his 105v105 match against PeytonicMaster, and in From the Deep Part 2 - where MajorTom used Thonder against ChaoticKween’s Phelphor - only to fall victim to Phelphor’s brainwashing powers.

Unnamed Overworlder - Overworld Scout - This Creature was never named, but he appeared in the episode “Putting the Muge in Mugic” as part of MajorTom’s Drome Match (He fought Hammerdoom Chantcaller) and “Last Stand” as part of the alliance, being part of the group in the Kiru City library. He resembles a Dwarf from Norse mythology - he has a beard and is wearing a metal helmet with a blue gem inlaid in it and armor, blue pants and wielding a mace. Not only would I appreciate a card, but a name would be nice too. I’m going to call him “ Alvíss” for now, named after the Dwarf that married Thor’s daughter but talked endlessly until morning, where he then turned to stone (similar situation to how Ulfhedinn was named after a Berserker of the same name).

Rhaden - Overworld Muge - Stationing himself at the Korvak Mound of Skeletal Springs, Rhaden drifts through time in order to seek answers about the various futures he has seen, most notably the ones in which the M’arrillians have succeeded in their takeover of Perim.
Kkraa - Past Overworld Elementalist - Used by Codemater Hotekk against Major Tom (Zaur’s Ancestor)

Rav - Past Overworld Elementalist - Used by Codemaster Hotekk against MajorTom, ally of Kiru, was part of the party that went to Gigantemtopolis to steal the Oraklon to exchange with Kaal for the freedom of his kidnapped Overworld slaves. (Xaerv’s Ancestor)

Og - Past Overworld Caretaker - Used by Codemaster Hotekk against MajorTom, very weak but has a special ability that allows him to revive any Creatures destroyed prior to him in the game, with all of them having 5 Energy and occupying Og’s now vacant space all together, allowing the player to attack several times in a row against the engaged opposing Creature.

Abohan - Past Overworld Muge - Close to Kiru, Abohan saved MajorTom, KidChaor, PeytonicMaster and Chaotikween from Voorx when they arrived in the past and introduced them to Kiru. Abohan was part of the party that went to Gigantemtopolis to steal the Oraklon to exchange with Kaal for the freedom of his kidnapped Overworld slaves.

Rokkus - Past Overworld Elementalist - Was part of the party that went to Gigantemtopolis to steal the Oraklon to exchange with Kaal for the freedom of his kidnapped Overworld slaves.

Woost - Past Overworld Elementalist - Was part of the party that went to Gigantemtopolis to steal the Oraklon to exchange with Kaal for the freedom of his kidnapped Overworld slaves, remained behind to bring the news of Kiru’s death back to the Overworld should something go wrong.

Gullo - Past Overworld Muge - Was part of the party that went to Gigantemtopolis to steal the Oraklon to exchange with Kaal for the freedom of his kidnapped Overworld slaves, remained behind to bring the news of Kiru’s death back to the Overworld should something go wrong.

Sped - Past Overworld Scout - Was part of the party that went to Gigantemtopolis to steal the Oraklon to exchange with Kaal for the freedom of his kidnapped Overworld slaves, saved Vlar from death at the hands of a Warbeast alongside Rav, remained behind to bring the news of Kiru’s death back to the Overworld should something go wrong. (Gespeden’s Ancestor)
Kor-bek - Past Overworld Scout - Scourge of the seas long ago, Kor-Bek met his end when he attempted to betray his crew and take all of their Mugical bounty for himself - only to discover that his crew members had a similar idea (potentially Owis or Arrthoa’s Ancestor)
Honorable Mentions (Cards that exist, but only in a digital format )
Quadore - Overworld Muge - Used by PeytonicMaster against Krystella in Battledrome of the Sexes - where she defeated Krystella’s Rothar and Ghuul - but was defeated by Kuhgar. Also used by MajorTom in “Out in the Cold” against Elliot’s Raran - though as he was focussed on scouting the location for KidChaor and Elliot was focussed on defeating MajorTom, Quadore was soon destroyed by Raran.
Mezzmarr - Overworld Scout - After MajorTom is tricked into porting to Lake Ken-i-po by Klayotic, he encounters ChaotiKween while on a scan quest. Together they encounter Nauthilax and witness Mezzmarr’s near defeat at the hands of the Underworld spy - only for Najarin to intervene and heal Mezzmarr - with both MajorTom and ChaotiKween getting scans of Mezzmarr. MajorTom would later go on to use his scan against Klayotic’s Magmon in “Everything is in Flux” - where Mezzmarr met a swift end thanks to Klayotic’s use of the Flux Bauble.
Ettala - Overworld Guardian - One of Mommark’s creations, Ettala stands guard at Mommark’s Castle, though his dimwitted nature often gets the better of him. Ettala was used in “Stelgar Strikes” by SlimShady - defeating an unknown opponent and their Klasp. Major Tom, KidChaor, and PeytonicMaster later trick Ettala into allowing them into Mommark’s Castle, and Ettala then attempts to assist Mommark and Staluk in retrieving the escaped Stelgar - though to no avail.
Mommark - Overworld Caretaker - The Overworld’s own Dr. Frankenstein, Mommark has created numerous Creatures - included Ettala, Staluk, Maglax, Raran, Ghuul, Stelgar and Zaur. In “Stelgar Strikes”, MajorTom, KidChaor, and PeytonicMaster break into Mommark’s Castle while he’s away - upon his return he finds that Stelgar is missing. When Staluk and Ettala prove unable to recapture Stelgar, Mommark sends Gespeden with a Decrescendo Mugic as a final attempt to stop Stelgar - though in the end, Stelgar escapes. MajorTom seeks out Mommark in the Eye of the Maelstrom after learning that Mommark is experimenting with electricity alongside Gespeden in order to enhance his speed. MajorTom would later use this enhanced Mommark against Codemaster Hotekk - destroying Neerig and Xulvux, but losting to Ixxik.
Prantix - Overworld Caretaker - Used by Hotshot against KidChaor’s Magmon in a bid to prove whether Overworlders were superior to Underworlders in the episode “Fire Fighters”. Prantix would later take part in the Perithon following the victory of the alliance against the M’arrillians.
Hoton - Overworld Strategist - A Creature who sought the power of Allmageddon in order to protect his village from Underworld Raiders - Hoton unknowingly gambled with the lives of his entire village in the process. Scarred by the damage he’d done, Hoton continuously attempts to rebuilds his village, but to no avail. Battleboarder managed to get a scan of Hoton’s Allmageddon, earning him an undefeated reputation in the episode “Allmageddon”. Hoton was later used by MajorTom in his 105v105 battle against PeytonicMaster in “Mega Match”. MajorTom would later acquire a strengthened scan of Hoton while on a scan quest in preparation for his match against Codemaster Hotekk, after hearing that Vidav had been helping to restore his energy.
Ulfhedinn - Overworld Warrior - Used by Agro999 against MajorTom in “Battle Lesson”, only for Ulfhedinn to be destroyed by Maxxor in Agro999′s blind attempt to discourage MajorTom by taking down his best Creature.

Putting preferred tribes aside, any favorite Creature lore/backstories?
Oron: I have to give Mommark credit, his understanding of life and death, and maybe undeath is almost unmatched. Even in Perim, Frankenstein shenanigans aren't really a thing... Outside the UnderWorld, sort of. But here he is, cranking out a few creatures that could set a lot of events in motion... That I don't feel like elaborating on other than tribal things. Hate to admit it's really fascinating to me. His techniques are far from perfect, though. Conditioning obedience into his creations is something he can't get down... Hey, Crellan!
Crellan: Yeah?
Oron: How many escaped creatures is Mommark on now?
Crellan: I don't know, six or seven?
Oron: And if that mystery creature is his, that makes eight... Yeah. What I really don't understand is how he's still allowed in the OverWorld. Maxxor is too lenient with his fringe tribesmen.

Descent
“Nature is cruel,” Smildon once heard from another talking creature of Prexxor. In fact, the only other talker he’s ever encountered who was born here... The only other gifted, or burdened with wisdom.
He was only a cub then, an orphan wanderer with no recollection of his family. How he wound up beside that creature faded from memory. It was at the edge of a cliff, overlooking a sparse woodland. A growth of the large crystals that formed here rimmed the bluff in a slanted wall. Atop one the creature rested, Wiseman as Smildon calls him for what he gave. The creature, short yet brawny, gazed out at the land beyond, his face hard like stone. One of his cold gray eyes, well the socket, had been clawed and gouged. It sent chills throughout the little Smildon. He still held some innocence.
They had a conversation he could not recall, other than those three words... And the two would never meet again. Wiseman looked older, some solans past his prime, much like Smildon has... He is probably gone now, but the words stayed.
In time, Smildon realized their truth. Indeed, Nature was a harsh mistress. Nature made him exist when he did not wish to. She let his family perish, or abandon him, and he would never know. Left him struggling to survive his entire life, and be chased by the Blight for days on end as everything it touched was incinerated. Even when he and the human, Tom managed to kill the living slime, almost all life in Prexxor had been wiped out. Who knew how long it would take for the Chasm to recover?
Food was scarce now. Between then and now, he has lost half his weight. So much, too much muscle had atrophied, strength that was already waning. His last meal was days ago... the other creatures could kill him. The threat of death was constantly on Smildon’s mind, and it only lingered more after the Blight.
The withered hunter prowled a part of the barren lowlands with what little energy he had left, the sun finishing its descent below the canyons. Another day of sniffing the air, of surveying the ground for tracks passed... and once again he found nothing, absolutely nothing. Was the Chasm on its dying breaths, he feared?
It was getting dark, and he was beyond exhausted. Smildon scuffed back to his dwelling empty handed. His body, and most noticeably stomach ached, and his vision blurred. He needed to rest before collapsing in the open. Perhaps tomorrow he would have luck... He thought the same yesterday.
For solans, Smildon had felt hollow. Not only in starvation, but... loneliness. He could trust no one in Prexxor, not now or never. It all made him empty, so empty.
Would Tom ever return? He found respect for the boy, and enjoyed his company. What about the one he called Codemaster Crellan? Both could give him food, he knows they have some in their ‘court’. He would take his chances with poisoning if it meant learning theirs was safe to digest.
Whatever a ‘Codemaster’ was sounded dominant. Perhaps this Crellan could do what their Chaotic players cannot, what he desired for countless solans now: Help him escape. Leave this forsaken location at last. Break from the cage...
And be free.
#Chaotic cartoon#Fanfiction#Smildon#Part of a freewrite that turned out nicely#The Hoton short might tie into something else I'm hoping to upload#Hence the long delay

In the TFP X Chaotic Crossover, do the Codemasters find out about Ratchet tapping into Raf scanner? Does this make them aware that a group of non-human were playing and interested in the game?
Codemaster Krellan is the one who notices the bug on Raf's scanner. He immediately traces it back to Ratchet and challenges the medic to a private online match. At first the bot was unaware of any ulterior motives until Krellan asks why he bugged Raf's scanner.
When you consider how powerful the scans a Codemaster has, they are definitely adept in various situations such as communication with Creatures. Krellan quickly dissected Ratchet's responses to confirm he wasn't human and ask the medic what he is. Even saying he could banish Raf as further incentive to protect Chaotic if the bot fails to prove he isn't hostile.
Ratchet folds and admits the truth knowing just how bad the boy would take being banned from the game. He seen the friendships the young child had formed but also how Chaotic is a way to escape his loneliness at home. Crellan didn't expect that this mysterious hacker was an extraterrestrial in nature however he discerned that Ratchet is no threat in the end.
Raf remains being able to play Chaotic although the stipulation was that the medic had to tell the boy about the bug. Ratchet could continue to play without any issue although Crellan definitely gives him match invites to check up on the bot from time to time. He doesn't think Chaotic and Perim is ready for otherworldly visitors yet.
Maybe one day but not now.

To any of the Codemasters really, is the robotic voice who announces battles just a robotic voice/AI or is there secretly someone/multiple someones in the back room with a microphone?
“We can’t reveal all our secrets, unfortunately.”
The Codemaster raises a finger across his nonexistent lips for a moment, a hint of amusement in his voice.
“But we do know what’s being said. We can say that much!”

Alright. Tell us your most embarassing loss!
Crellan: I lost a match with Hotekk because I used the wrong mugic. Meant to use a Song of Resurgence... turned out I picked Surge Song in the drome. So, Hotekk just hid until the mugic wore off.
Hotekk: Can’t remember one.
Chirrul: Liar, he’s still salty about losing to MajorTom’s weird battle team. Anyway, most embarrassing loss... That’d have to be when I lost to a sleepwalker. The guy just passed out during the last match and I was looking at the camera like “look at this guy”. Then, he started sleepwalking and he shot me in the back.
Amzen: Once, I had a Codemaster battle with another player that got real heated. So heated, I didn’t notice there was a tree root behind me... I tripped and my opponent got to code me.
Oron: I was driving a drilldozer and hit reverse instead of the gas, while right behind a cliff.
Imthor: A kid called me ‘Imthot’ while I was sneaking up on him. I laughed, he heard me, I got coded.
